Nayla and Garrett = Love at first site, but with a crazy bunch of friends. This pretty much sums it all up.

I can pretty much say that every wedding is unique and I knew this was going to be one for the record. Several days before the wedding, the weather in Miami was not wedding perfect. It was pretty much all rain in the forecast including on the wedding date. I had a walk through of the location and majority of events were outdoor which made me a bit concerned with all the rain. I had a meeting with the couple the same night of the walk through and I asked them, what is plan b. Nayla looked at me and said, “There is no Plan B”. Right then and there I knew this was going to be a great wedding. Nayla and Garrett knew what they wanted and no one was going to stop it.

The day started with bright sunny skies in Miami… Their wedding was taking place on Fisher Island (www.fisherislandclub.com/) so we made sure to arrive early not to have any delays from the ferry. This time around we were working with photographer Ricky Stern (www.miamiphotographer.net) and planner Guerdy Abraira. Around the time that Nayla was putting her dress on, those beautiful skies became dark and they opened up with a down pour. Fortunately it stopped in time for their beach side ceremony because to date it was the most beautiful beach side ceremony we have had.

So going back to my first sentence of “crazy bunch of friends”. Once I walked into the bride’s parents house and saw all the bridesmaids, family and friends prepping themselves for the big day and having fun, I knew the energy was perfect. Then I walked into the Groom’s getting ready location and I discovered even more positive energy. This was all great, but I was not aware of what was to come. By the time we began the toasts at the reception, the skies were not cooperating with us and mid way through the best man’s toast, we had to stop his speech to get away from the rain. Once he was done the band began to play and to my surprise, family and friends stepped onto the dance floor, under the rain and continued to have fun. Never would I have expected that. A wedding and a trash the dress all in one night. Priceless…
