Brittany & Cassidy

I met Brittany and Cassidy almost two years before their wedding at their good friend’s wedding, Michelle and David, which we happen to be filming. I recall when Brittany and Cassidy got engaged, Michelle reached out to us expressing how much Brittany wanted to book us. One thing lead to another and after some decisions as to which package they wanted, Brittany and Cassidy hired us.

Like any other couple without a planner, Brittany would communicate with me with questions, but towards the end she finalized in hiring the one and only, Mr. Eric Trelles himself from ET Events. I couldn’t be more at peace for the day of as I knew everything was under control. You see even though we as cinematographers can be planners, it’s a role we do not like to fill and leave the planning to the experts. Thank you Mr. Trelles…

Wedding day arrived and this couple couldn’t have asked for more beautiful day. A bit cloudy at times, but we will take cloudiness over rain any day. Getting ready was taking place at Brittany’s parents house and when we arrived it was a very peaceful energy/vibe flowing. I walked in said hello and began to capture the moment. Sometime during the artistic shots of the rings, I recall a gentleman, actually the only male species in the room aside from myself, pacing around the house. I approached him and asked if he was Brittany’s father. With a crack in his voice he said yes. I asked if Brittany was the first to marry and he also said yes. I asked if he was nervous and he said no, not yet but I could tell he was anxious and emotional. This is where I put myself in his shoes and felt what he was feeling. You see as a father of a 3 year old daughter, I connect many times with fathers. Many times I ask them for advice, suggestions or just love to hear their stories. Getting ready pretty much went much faster then expected and next thing we knew it was time for Brittany to get into her dress. Of course we had a father/daughter first look, and in all honesty to date I watch that moment when Brittany’s dad see’s her for the first time and still get teary eyed as you can feel the love Brittany’s father has for his family.

From her parents house we traveled towards St. Hugh’s Catholic Church for the ceremony and then towards The Fairways Country Club in Key Biscayne. Having never filmed at this location before, nothing better then an open golf course for artistic shots as well as a quick stop at Hobbie Beach.
